Become a volunteer tour guide
Why?
It is very enjoyable to be telling the story of such a beautiful building to people not only from Todmorden but across the country- our furthest travelled visitors were from America!
Tours are first Sunday of the month at 2pm from March to December and we usually have a planning meeting the week before. The tour is delivered by the team of guides with each doing a particular room. You would start by observing the tour and build up to telling the story of a particular section. There is a script for you to work from plus a research folder if you want to find out more.
We also host group tours by arrangement, which will be at dates and times to suit the group and availability of guides and the building.
We are all volunteers and there is no expectation that you would be available for every tour.
Discover more stories
Did you know that the first suffragettes to be sentenced to jail In Yorkshire were sentenced in the Court Room of Town Hall? This was a story uncovered by a tour guide and is frequently told on the tour. If you are interested in history, come and help us uncover more stories.
Marketing
We would like to recruit someone with skills in marketing and social media to promote the tours.
